work trip hotel // friend of a friend

I was at this amazing hotel and it was with work. It was a combination of old gamestop managers and current starbucks managers. This means very little in the overall scheme of things, outside of the fact that so many of them seemed to be talking about how annoying it was to be at this all expense paid conference at this truly incredible hotel (subway lines between buildings; bathosphere elevator system) and they spoke mostly of how annoying things at work were. I think some of that has to do with their level of commitment to work, as that’s sort of how i operate in the real world, but to nitpick and dive in to the nitty gritty of the workplace HERE of all places was really bothering me. In this dream, though, i don’t remember much of the actual details of their complaints or dialog, just that it was following me everywhere. I left an entire pile of luggage at a railway station because i was walking away from them to avoid it. I went down the elevator to have a drink at a HUGE hotel bar (this bar, had very similar vibes to a lot of the other hotels i’ve been in in my dreams) and i got a drink which waited for me at the bar, but two people (one of them was actually barbara botti) were kind of lingering around my shoulder talking to me about work, and i walked away from the beer to head back to my hotel. I had a small magnetic device that allowed me into a specific elevator that took me directly to my hotel room. I was rooming with dave and one other person (i think a friend of dave’s? He is faceless) but i got back to our hotel room and i remember telling dave how much i couldn’t stand them. I said something like, ‘i wish they could just get their priorities straight, i wish they could have some perspective’ and then specifically, “i wish they could see healthcare workers die in a house fire”. I woke up after that, kind of like in shock of that line running over and over in my head.

Went back to sleep later and i was in a room or place with Rahul and we were talking to some guy about the business world. I don’t know where other guy worked, but rahul was talking about working for the Apple company. They talked about how people wanted to get jobs for their companies but didn’t know what they would do once they worked there. That people don’t realize that even though you work for Apple or whatever company that guy worked for, they actually have specific jobs within that company. This was in an apartment but i had given that guy coffee and he was trying to go back over to his table somewhere near a window, but him and rahul continued to talk and he wasn’t able to actually go sit down. He was precariously balancing this volume of liquid in his mug the whole time he was talking. The dialog continued for some time and i think i was building a spotify playlist or something? I was on a computer. Over time, this person changed into a woman, and this woman was someone i worked with and apparently had been helping around her apartment with something like either rearranging it OR helping her with work stuff and i had a lot of laundry i kept finding at her apartment and i was like i am so sorry and she was like it’s fine, and was kind of treating me like a younger brother. One of the pieces of clothing was a Raiders jersey which, even in-dream, i found so funny and unrealistic, as i started to question the authenticity of that dream within that place. So the dream started to fall apart in that sense. That’s kind of where rahul was in the other room telling the woman that he’d see her soon or something, like we were getting ready to leave (i was his ride) so i started laying out clothes for me to wear the next day on her bathtub, but rahul was saying, yeah i can come back any time that would be awesome, and i said “yeah, you guys could play quake”. The woman heard me say that (from the bathroom) and she was like yeah or we could stay up all night, we could just fall asleep doing whatever. It would be great to see you.
