The City, Reconciliation.
I was living in a city, probably New York City, and it felt a little bit like a Gene Hackman 70s movie, maybe even modern like Heaven Knows What. I was dating someone different, someone new who I had never met before in real life. This girl I was dating had blue hair. And I was walking in the street, out of some bar or restaurant and I caught Beetle ‘spying’ on me or stalking me. And at first, I thought ‘How long has she been watching me?’ but then shortly after rationalized that it seemed that she just saw me through a window or enter the restaurant and hung around this one time. I was currently alone, and ‘confronted’ her by going up to her and she also had blue hair and I was smirking and she knew that it was a totally ridiculous situation where she was thinking something along the lines of ‘oh great, I know he’s going to say something about this…’ and I did, of course. I said, “oh yeah? Blue Is the Warmest Color, huh?” And she said laughing, “shut up!”
When we were talking, she seemed put together, suddenly had glasses and was dressed in warm clothes. And she started trying to talk and couldn’t really get the words out properly and she started speaking with a shaky voice and said, “I’m not coming back,” and I was trying to ask her what she meant. And she said that she actually came out here to try and find me and to talk to me and when she thought she would see me she would be able to rekindle something, but when she saw me go into the restaurant, it felt a little too real for her, and knew that what was in the past is only going to be in the past but she was very excited to see me still. She was saying that she has a job and has a great life and wants to keep it that way. And we spent a lot of time together that day and we saw my blue-haired girlfriend walking down a street and I knew at that moment that I had to go and meet up with her and surprise her and while I didn’t want her to leave (I wanted to introduce them), we both knew it would be best if I just went and met her. I think the blue-haired girlfriend ended up being someone I actually could not recognize.
